Find Lost Super
Did you know there is over $7 billion of “lost” super in Australia?
When a member of a superannuation fund is reported as lost by the fund, the details of that member are recorded on the Australian Taxation Office’s (ATO) Lost Members Register. Currently there is over $7 billion of lost super listed on this register.
The easiest way for you to find out whether you have any entitlements is to conduct a search on the ATO website using SuperSeeker - an on-line tool that instantly provides possible matches for lost super using your tax file number, name and date of birth.
A Step by Step Guide to Finding your Lost Super
Find out now if any of the $7 billion of lost super registered with the ATO is yours by simply following the instructions below. If you do find super you're entitled to, and you're an existing MLC customer, you may want to consider consolidating this, and other super funds you knowingly have, with your MLC account. By consolidating your superannuation accounts you can have peace of mind knowing exactly how much super you have, who is looking after it and how much you are paying in fees. It can also help you maximise your retirement investment.
For the most appropriate strategy suited to you, you should talk with your financial adviser who may also be able to provide you with information on other smart ways to manage your super. If you don’t have a financial adviser and would like us to put you in touch with one, please call 132 652.
